"Another lousy shift"

Films: The Dark (1994)

Alias: Elefaria

Type: Ancient

Location: Underground

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: If you thought that crazed rat/bat monsters were the worst thing you could encounter in a cemetery, then you haven't visited a little graveyard in Canada. For here is where the dead do not rest. Instead, they're just eaten...along with the living.

History: A rodent-like beast having existed for thousands of years, this thing resided in the underground caverns located beneath a small cemetery, feasting on the corpses buried there. The thing about this creature is that it secretes a strange substance capable of healing any wound, which would explain how it has lasted for so long. But people beware, because if there's one thing this beast hates, it's company.

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: In the end, any attempt at learning about this thing's fantastic powers are dashed when an angered agent shoots it a bunch of times, severely weakening it, and causing it to seemingly die. But the healing allows it to live, presumably never to be disturbed again.

Powers/Abilities: Secretes a special healing slime.

Weakness: Anything conventional, so long as it can't heal in time.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-This weird synapsid monstrosity is big enough and mean-looking enough to warrant that feeling you get when you know you have to turn tail and run the heck away. But with that said, it isn't a total savage monster. It just hates having intruders, and at times will just try and shoo you away. Bottom line, don't disturb and test this oddball's generosity.

Trivia: -This was the first film to star Neve Campbell, who would later score big as the star of the "Scream" franchise.

-The largest rodent to ever live was Josephoartigasia monesi, or simply the giant pacarana. It was said to weigh a ton, but was thankfully a strict vegetarian.
